How long does teeth whitening take?
Typically, teeth whitening treatment time is around 2 weeks and you will start to see a gradual change over this time. You can reuse the teeth whitening trays that we give you and to top up your whitening. We recommend topping up no more than 6 to 12 months.
How often do I have to wear my teeth whitening trays?
You will have to wear the trays for 1 hour in the day or overnight, during the initial 2 week period. At this point, you are complete! But you can store the trays somewhere safe at home and continue to wear them in the future to top up your whitening.
Is teeth whitening permanent?
No, teeth whitening is not permanent but our work should last for at least 6 to 12 months depending on your lifestyle and choices.
Does teeth whitening hurt or make my teeth sensitive?
Typically, teeth whitening does not hurt but can cause slight sensitivity. Modern teeth whitening gels have a desensitising agent mixed in to reduce this and we usually recommend using a desensitising toothpaste alongside your treatment. If you do experience sensitivity, we recommend giving your teeth a day break from the gels to help.
What are alternatives to teeth whitening?
Alternatives to teeth whitening include limiting foods and drinks that stain teeth such as tea, coffee and red wine and smoking. We do not endorse teeth whitening toothpastes as they can be very abrasive and can cause long term damage to your teeth. We do recommend to visit our dental hygienist regularly who can perform a scale and polish who can reduce extrinsic staining to the teeth.
