What is Composite Bonding?
Composite bonding is a new way of restoring teeth, either for cosmetic (appearance) reasons, or to build up tooth structure that has been lost due to wear to other factors. It involves bonding a tooth coloured filling material to existing teeth to reshape them or improve their colour. This process can also be used to repair chips, tooth discolourations, close spaces, fix fractures and make the teeth longer.
How Does Composite Bonding Work?
A digital scan of the teeth is taken then we can show you how the final tooth will look. The procedure is non invasive and no tooth substance is remove. The teeth have a liquid applied to them then the filling material is built up over them. They will last about 5 years and will need polishing every year to restore the shade. The shape and colour of the teeth can be changed.
